Strap Yourself In and Keep Your Hands on the Bar...

It's that time again...RUMORS!!!! We (as in the followers of Rumor Queen) heard yesterday that matching had begun. Today, someone posted that her agency expected to receive referrals this batch for the 1-13-08 group!!! Holy Moly!! If this ends up being true, then a May referral for me is almost certain with travel in June. Yowzer! I need to kick it up a notch, again.

I'm back making more lists again, which is hard when I'm having to replace pieces of my house every three weeks. Last month it was the drainfield. Today I had to bite the bullet and get the house repiped. I'm thinking I should start a poll, "What will be the next thing to break at my house?" Oh well, that's what happens when you buy a 55 year old house!

I leave for Boston this weekend to meet with other adoptive Moms in the same timeline. I'm looking forward to getting away and spending some time with the girls and comparing notes, etc. We're suppose to be scrapbooking, but I'm not sure how much of that is actually going to happen!!

Scary or Cute??

These were my nursery splurge (except for the lampshade...don't ask) and I have them hanging in the corner, over the crib...high enough so Mary Alice can't reach them. I'm hoping they'll provide hours of fascination (especially at 5am on Saturday mornings)and not scare the bejeesus out of her. I bought them at Timothy's Gallery over the course of 26 MONTHS, which by the way is today's anniversary.

I've kept busy with house projects (resodding over the infamous drainfield).

You know the old adage, "Measure twice, cut once"? Yeah, well I forgot that one when I ordered the pallet of sod...should have ordered two! I'm still looking for lawn maintenance, but taking a little reprieve while the lawn actually takes root.

No, No, No, No....

Congratulations to all the new families out there that received their referrals this week. The CCAA matched through 1-4-06, so that's only 12 days left for me to be matched. The concensus on Rumor Queen is that they'll make it to either the 10th or the 11th in April's batch (Yeah!! Susan/Riz and Susan/Jonathan), but only make it through the 13th or 14th for May's batch!! No, No, No, No!!!!

I'm done adjusting my expectations! I've TotLocks installed, toilet latch installed, bag is mostly packed, I've talked to the cat and I've pretty much learned the video camera...I'm ready! Let's get this show on the road.

Look what I bought this week!! One drainfield...check. Now on to chaulking the exterior windows and installing the Tot Locks...

The rumor is that the cut-off is 1-4-06, which is what I thought it would be. Hopefully, they will stay "on schedule" and the next batch will get through 1-11-06 and then finally through 1-16-06 in May's batch.
