Went to Savannah, GA this weekend to meet other Waiting Families from the Yahoo Message board for Dec/Jan /Feb. We all met at Wendy's house for Chinese dinner, lessons on making dumplings and a Question/Answer session with Dr. Jean, Wendy and her neighbors. Ended the night with some champagne in the Hilton's hotel room with the Allen's, the Gibbs' and Karen Newsome, laughing and as Gary put it, "telling our stories".
Saturday, the group met for Starbucks coffee, then took the city trolley tour. We toured Julliette Gordon Low's house (founder of the Girl Scouts), had tea at Gryphon's, and ended the day with dinner at Paula Deen's restaurant. Sunday, we met for breakfast before saying our good-byes and traveling home.
I'm so glad I made the decision to make this trip. It was so nice to meet families in the same time frame as me and to put faces with names on the message boards. The internet is truly an amazing tool for bringing people together. We had lots of laughs and made new friends that I'm sure I'll meet again.
